Who you're dealing with
Plentry is the trading name of Sam Brown, 1 Spratt Hall Road, London E11 2RQ. Email support@plentry.co.uk. By booking a delivery you agree to these terms. They sit alongside our privacy notice.
What you're buying
- A week of meals planned around your answers, with a recipe for each one.
- The groceries for those meals. We buy them from Sainsbury's in our own name and sell them to you, and Sainsbury's delivers them to your door in the window you chose.
- A delivery charge of £2.00 an order. The service fee is waived during the pilot.
What you pay, and when
- Your first order is paid when you book. Later weeks are charged to your saved card at 8pm two days before each delivery.
- Each charge is the estimated cost of your basket, plus a small buffer for price changes (5% of the estimate, at most £5.00), plus delivery and any service fee.
- Once Sainsbury's has picked your order we email you what it actually cost, item by item. Whatever wasn't spent is held as credit and taken off your next charge. If the shop cost more than we collected, the shortfall is added to your next charge.
- Credit is your money. If you leave, we refund it to your card.
- If a charge fails we email you to update your card. We won't place an order that hasn't been paid for.
Skipping, cancelling and leaving
- You can skip any week, or cancel altogether, in one tap in the app. Nothing is charged for a skipped week.
- The cut-off for stopping an order is 10pm the day before its delivery. After that the order still arrives and is still charged, and nothing after it does.
- Cancelling your account stops all future orders and refunds any credit you hold.
Your right to cancel
Because you're buying online, you have a legal right to cancel within 14 days. For the planning service it runs from the day you book; you ask us to start straight away, and if you cancel part-way through a week you pay for the part already delivered. Fresh and chilled food can't be returned once delivered, because it spoils. For anything else that arrives wrong, damaged or missing, email us within 14 days and we'll refund or credit it. None of this affects your rights under the Consumer Rights Act 2015.
Substitutions and what arrives
- Sainsbury's sometimes substitutes an item it has run out of. If you've told us about an allergy or intolerance, we switch substitutions off for your orders. Otherwise we accept them, update the recipe to match, and flag every swap in your email and in the app.
- You can refuse a substitute at the door and Sainsbury's refunds it. Accepted substitutes can't be refunded afterwards.
- Delivery windows are Sainsbury's windows. If they run late or miss a delivery, tell us and we'll credit or refund what didn't arrive.
Allergies and food safety
We keep the allergens you tell us about out of your plan and your shopping, and we check again after every plan is made. We can't see inside Sainsbury's kitchens or ours, so the label on the product is the final word: check it before you cook, every time. If you have a severe allergy, the pilot isn't safe for you and you shouldn't book. Recipes are suggestions for everyday cooking, not medical or dietary advice.
Our responsibility to you
We're responsible for loss you suffer that we could reasonably have foreseen, and for anything the law says we can't exclude, such as death or injury caused by our negligence. We're not responsible for business losses, for losses that neither of us could have foreseen, or for problems caused by information you gave us that wasn't right. Our total liability for any one order is limited to what you paid for it, except where the law says otherwise.
The pilot
Plentry is a small pilot. We may change the service, pause it or end it; if we do, we'll email you, stop future charges, and refund any credit. We may change these terms, and we'll email you before any change that affects you. English law applies and the courts of England and Wales decide any dispute.
